Kylemore Abbey & Victorian Walled Garden

Originally built as castle in 1871 by Mitchell Henry as a gift for his beloved wife Margaret, Kylemore Abbey is known as Irelands most romantic castle. Now home to the Benedictine Order of Nuns, Kylemore Abbey is the perfect destination for a day out. The nuns have restored some rooms of the abbey, the miniature cathedral and the magnificent six acre Victorian Walled Garden and have won international awards for their efforts.

The estate comprises of 1000 acres with woodland and lakeshore walks, childrens play trail, nature and tree trails and of course spectacular scenery.
