Set on the 480 acre estate, the Pirate Adventure Park is a treasure trove of family fun with its Grace O’Malley-themed amusement park with rides and activities ideally suited to families with children under 12. Enjoy the log flume water ride, swinging Pirates galleon, a ride on the miniature railway, Swan Pedaloe Boats, Cannon Ball Run slide, indoor soft play, paint your own pottery and outdoor playground in this beautiful parkland setting. Be sure to arrive early for a full days fun and dress for the weather as most activities are outdoors! Mark your calendar for Halloween Fest running from 11am to 5pm , October 27 to Nov 4.
Westport House & Gardens: 300 years of Irish Heritage
Built in 1730 on the ruins of a former castle of the legendary Irish pirate queen, Grace O’Malley, Westport House is one of Ireland’s most beautiful historic homes. Privately owned by the Browne family, it has 30 rooms on show, 4 exhibitions, dungeons, original antiques, artwork and architecture and extensive gardens. Guided tours for children and adults, new Grace O’Malley Experience, Tea Rooms and gift shops provides the ideal day out for the culture vulture.

You absolutely must go here ! We went for a day and we wanted to stay longer. Its not like it was 20 years ago, its SO MUCH BETTER. Something for everyone. Staff were great and admission was very reasonable, given that you had access to everything, all day. One small thing - bring a change of light clothing or a rain jacket/cape cause you will get wet!!! and thats not just from rain. Have fun. Massive amount of activities and most of it included in the admission price. Adventure park, house tour, train ride, swan boats and extra activities like zorbing and archery - it was all superb.
