Our beloved Santa Claus returns to take up residence at Wicklow Gaol from the 23rd of November.
There will be fun activities with our charming Christmas actors to keep the whole family entertained. Each child will meet the man in red himself for a Christmas chat and a very special gift.
Marvel at the spectacular lighting that the Gaol is now famous for and get into the festive spirit from the moment you enter the grounds.
At weekends take a browse through our cosy mini Christmas craft market with a selection of unusual and interesting gems.
The Gaol cafe is open throughout the festive period with a mouth-watering selection of Christmas treats for all the family.
As you travel back in time, you are entering one of the cruellest, most historically shameful places in Ireland.
Dare you come and experience first hand the harshness of life in the Dungeon ?
You will see the punishments being meted out and hear the anguished cries of the prisoners or you could just sit in the solitude cell and feel the desperation of those that were there before you.
Come meet Mary Morris, the 19th Century Gaol Matron, sit in her schoolroom and listen as she instructs you in the lessons of the day.

Visitors to the Gaol can enjoy a range of salads, sandwiches, home-made cakes and pastries, teas, coffee and soft drinks in the Gaol Cafe situated on the Main floor of the Gaol.
Open 7 days a week, all year round
Monday to Saturday 10.30am to 4.30pm
Sunday 11.00am to 4.30pm.
Adult €7.30, Child €4.50, Concessions(Students, Unwaged, Senior Citizens) €6, Family ticket (2 adults and up to three children) €19, Children under 5 years Free.
Night Tours (Adults only) €15.
We estimate the length of a visit to be 60 to 90 minutes.

From Dublin: off main Dublin/Wexford road (N11) at Rathnew, two miles from Wicklow town. The Gaol is situated at the southern end of Wicklow town beside the courthouse.
From Wexford/Waterford/Cork: Turn right off N11 at the Beehive (two miles from Wicklow Town).
