The Alliance Française Dublin

The award-winning Alliance Française Dublin has over 50 years’ experience in teaching French and belongs to a world-wide network, the biggest in the world, established since 1883 to promote French language and culture in 133 countries. The Alliance Française Dublin is a Registered Irish Charity ideally located in the heart of the city centre in a famous listed building overlooking Trinity College to welcome over 3600 different students, 9000 attendees and general public yearly.

At the Alliance Française
Our award-winning programmes for Toddlers and Children are available for every age, from 12 months to 12 years old, and levels, from complete beginners to bilingual, throughout the year: 16 week terms, one-off workshops, holiday camps, summer activities and more!
Teenagers aren’t left aside with French courses designed to complement classes attended at secondary school, one-off workshops, holiday camps, summer activities, debating competitions in French and, of course, specialised preparation for students in Junior & Leaving Certificates. In contrast to most institutes in Dublin, we take no more than 16 students per group to ensure the best learning experience for all.
All the classes are harmonised with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages so that children have the option of taking the exams of the DELF (Diplôme d’Études en Langue Française) Primaires & Juniors the official diploma valid for life and internationally recognised.
The Alliance Française Dublin employs and trains the best native French teachers in Ireland, all qualified and experienced in classes with minors for which they are Garda-vetted. They focus on interests and topics relevant to the participants’ age while following the requirements of the syllabus.
The Alliance Française is also a public where the young ones can immerse themselves in the French language and culture whether it’s simply having a snack in our French café/restaurant La Cocotte or using the newly refurbished facilities of the French Library, a state-of-the-art, multiform space with physical and digital collections and a dedicated “Children's Corner”.
