Bring all the family to visit beautiful Kylemore Abbey and Victorian Walled Gardens situated in one of Ireland's most beautiful woodland estates.

Nestled in the heart of the Connemara countryside, Kylemore is visually stunning with a fascinating history.

Hop on their shuttle bus which will bring you to their Victorian Walled Garden where you can explore this wonderful 6 acre oasis.

Children can take a History Hunters Map and discover all the interesting character and facts with a very special reward when the trail is completed or burn off some energy on their woodland and lake shore walks.

Children will love to meet our pet Kune Kune pigs, Gloria Summer and Ken Scamper and take time to find the fairy houses and make some fairy stew in our wild play area! Our Connemara ponies are always ready to say hello too with daily feedings and talks for everyone to attend!

Enjoy lunch in The Kylemore Kitchen Café or on your weekend out snack on some homemade luxury ice cream or a rich hot chocolate in the Garden Tea House - half portions and baby bowls also available.

New Visitor Experience

In Summer 2019 a fantastic new Visitor Experience was launched in the Abbey which will be enjoyable for all the family. Kylemore’s many intriguing stories are told with beautiful imagery, audio visual displays, historic costumes, 3d models and speaking portraits which children will love.

The beautifully restored period rooms show how the luxurious lives lived by the people who once made Kylemore their home.

Further along the avenue is the beautiful neo-Gothic Church and nestled in the woods nearbyis the Henry family Mausoleum. A must to do families is a stroll down to the genuine, Giant’s Wishing Stone, where all you need is a simple pebble to make your very special wishes!

Join one of our daily pig and pony feedings or come along to our Nature Walk every Thursday, and Folklore trail every sundae -perfect for kids. With almost 8kms of trails on the estate, there is more to explore than ever.
